Where We planted the first seed... Now the Girls’ Center is back in bloom

At the heart of every profound transformation lies a moment of ignition – one that lights the way forward.

For the Youth Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF), that moment began with the creation of the Girls’ Center – the very first dream that came to life as a safe and empowering space for girls. It was a place where they learned, grew, and shaped the outlines of their future with confidence and determination. The center was the seed planted years ago – a seed that embraced young dreams until they blossomed into success stories that reached the sky. It became a pioneering environment for development, equipping girls with tools, knowledge, and skills that empowered them to be more independent and resilient in the face of challenges. Despite the difficult conditions at the time – driven by a harsh humanitarian and political landscape – the work continued with unwavering commitment and a sincere desire to offer something meaningful and impactful. We overcame obstacles, one by one, and helped build shining examples of real, lasting change.

In 2023, the YLDF reaffirmed its commitment to the vision of the Girls’ Center, reviving it as a central pillar of its long-term strategy – one that focuses on the economic empowerment of women and the provision of a safe space for education and personal development. This revival marked the beginning of a transformational phase, launching comprehensive programs aimed at strengthening girls’ capacities, enhancing their independence, and offering a nurturing and supportive environment.

Today, the center returns once again – but in even more complex conditions shaped by war and shrinking opportunities. And yet, it returns with renewed purpose, armed with advanced programs in vocational training, entrepreneurship, life skills, and leadership. It returns to offer girls the space to grow, explore, and rediscover their sense of belonging. In this return, it is not just the girls who come back – it is the spirit, the determination, and the undying dream. The Girls’ Center rises again to bring light to paths darkened by hardship, and to fulfill its promise that every girl has a place, a voice, and a future to build with dignity and pride.

We are not just reopening doors – we are reopening possibilities. We are not merely offering programs – we are cultivating a space where growth is born. In every corner of this center, an idea is maturing, a hope is being born, and a hand is reaching out to lift another.

To all who believed in the dream and walked the path of empowerment with us – this is our new chapter. Not written in ink alone, but with hearts full of resolve, hands building through pain, and eyes that no longer see the impossible.
