Launching Capacity Building Training for Water User Associations in Administrative and Financial Governance and Community Conflict Resolution in Ad-Dhale’e Governorate

Date

11th February 2024

Location:

AD-Dhale'e and Alazareq Districts - Ad-Dhale'e Governorate.

On Sunday, the 11th of February 2024, a capacity building training was launched for water user associations in administrative and financial governance, as well as community conflict resolution, in Ad-Dhale'e Governorate, (AD-Dhale'e and Alazareq Districts).

This training comes in response to the water scarcity crisis and the need for effective and sustainable water management. The Youth Leadership Development Foundation has prepared and developed a guide for financial and administrative governance for water user associations, aiming to ensure fair, sufficient, and sustainable water allocations for all sectors and users.

This project also aims to provide participants with the necessary technical skills to achieve the mentioned goals. It is part of an initiative to provide livelihood support for agriculture and pastoralism, seeking to develop improved and highly efficient agricultural water management systems as a sustainable alternative to the water sustainability crisis.

This project is funded in collaboration with The People of Japan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

We hope that this training will contribute to enhancing administrative and financial governance, as well as resolving community disputes related to water resources in Ad-Dhale'e Governorate, thereby achieving water sustainability and availability for the region.
