YLDF Launches Training Program for 150 Farmers in Amran to Enhance Food Security

AMRAN – April , 2026

The Youth Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF) officially launched a specialized training program today for 150 male and female farmers in the Jabal Iyal Yazid district, Amran Governorate. This initiative is part of the "Emergency Food Security and Early Recovery 2" (#EFSER2) project, implemented in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and funded by Caritas Germany.
The three-day training aims to equip participants with modern skills across three main tracks: Crop Production (modern irrigation and pest control), Animal Husbandry (proper breeding and veterinary prevention), and Agricultural Marketing and Financial Management to ensure better economic returns for small-scale farmers.
Project Coordinator, Mr. Hussein Al-Oudari, stated that this course marks the beginning of an intensive five-month field agricultural extension program. Under the supervision of the Agriculture Office, technical experts will provide direct on-site support to ensure the application of scientific practices and enhance local production efficiency.
Mr. Abdulrahman Amer, Chairman of the Al-Jabal Cooperative Association, described the empowerment of local farmers as the "first line of defense" against food insecurity. He praised YLDF's role in translating training outcomes into a tangible reality that promotes sustainability amidst the country's exceptional challenges.
The program was launched in coordination with the Office of Agriculture and Irrigation in Amran, the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA), and in cooperation with the Al-Jabal Agricultural Association
